Own your story: headshots & networking in bend, Or

Headshots in Bend, Oregon

Last week, I had the honor of making headshots at the final networking event of 2025 for Deschutes Women in Business in Bend, Oregon, and what a great time it was! Tons of energy and excitement the whole evening and I got to meet 50 other Oregon entrepreneurs who were driven to own their stories by refreshing their headshots with me. Instead of the usual studio setting, this event unfolded in a room already filled with conversation, collaboration, and the unmistakable buzz that happens when women come together with purpose.

A Natural Fit for aN EVENING of Professional Growth

The idea behind bringing headshots to this networking event was simple: when women are already showing up to invest in their careers, their businesses, and each other, it’s the perfect moment to capture that confidence on camera. This meant that by the time each participant stepped in front of the lens, they were already present, engaged, and connected. That energy translated beautifully into their photos - I can’t wait to deliver the gallery!

A Comfortable, Genuine Approach

My setup was minimal and took place at Two Suns Art Studio + Maker Space, just across from the Volcanic Theatre Pub. I took over one corner of the space and set up my lighting, a clean white backdrop, and small stool, and the headshots began! Event participants would pop in for their headshot, chat with me, and usually bring a new friend they’d met that evening. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed and it was fun to hear the conversations and connections happening all around me as I worked to make each woman feel confident in front of the camera. Instead of interrupting the event, the headshots became part of it—another way participants could show up for themselves professionally.

Many women admitted they had been putting off updating their headshots, either because it felt like a chore or because traditional studio sessions can feel stiff. The atmosphere at the networking event helped dissolve that pressure. Laughter, encouragement from peers, and the casual setting made it easy for each person to relax and let their authentic expression come through.

Community Made the Difference

One of the standout parts of the evening wasn’t the photography itself—it was the support happening all around it. Women hyped each other up before their turn, offered quick styling tips, and celebrated the little joys of capturing a great shot. That sense of community gave the images an extra layer of warmth: you can almost feel the empowerment behind the scenes.

The Final Results

I’m happy I was able to show up for my community as a professional headshot photographer and offer a special price to make this important service accessible for everyone. The gallery is just about finished, and even though the women were able to view their images at the event, there is something special about seeing a beautifully and authentically edited image of yourself as the end result.

Looking Ahead

Hosting this headshot pop-up at a women’s networking gathering showed just how powerful it can be to combine professional development with confidence-boosting portrait work. I’m excited to explore more collaborations like this and look forward to creating even more opportunities for women to step in front of the camera feeling supported, seen, and celebrated. As a headshot and personal branding photographer in Bend, Oregon, my passion is helping my clients show up authentically and tell their stories visually. A great headshot is more often than not the first impression a potential client gets of a business owner, and it’s really an honor to be able to create portraits and branding that helps each person who steps in front of my camera find their ideal client.
